To my surprise, Dripping sunshine won 1st Place in the Ceramics category in the art show I entered. I didn't get a chance to actually go and see the other work, but I know all of the stuff submitted from our school was really good stuff. I heard that our schools entries topped everything else though.

None of the other kids in my class won anything, which sucks. The show was at a college, and I think they wanted to spread the prizes around in order to entice potential students to apply at their college. I don't think it was entirely fair, but I'm still glad they liked my piece.

Also, my teacher nominated me for a Fine Arts Academy program/camp for three weeks in the summer. The top 150 high school artists in the state will be there! It includes all of the music, drama, and dance kids too, so I'm pretty excited. I have to write an essay and organize my portfolio, but I hope I have a shot at it, because it sounds like an awesome experience.
